Marshfield Clinic gets $4.4M for new dental clinic

The Marshfield Clinic and the Family Health Center in Marshfield, WI, have been awarded a $4.4 million federal grant to build a new dental center in Black River Falls.

The new center, to be built on land owned by the Ho-Chunk Nation, is designed to treat underserved communities, according to a press release. The dental center will be the ninth operated by the Family Health Center and Marshfield Clinic in central and northern Wisconsin.

The 12,600-square-foot facility will have five dentists, five hygienists, and about 35 staff who will provide general dental care, including preventative, restorative, operative, prosthodontic, endodontic, diagnostic, and emergency care.

Marshfield Clinic operates dental centers for Family Health Center in Chippewa Falls, Ladysmith, Marshfield, Medford, Neillsville, Park Falls, Rhinelander, and Rice Lake.

Since the first center opened in 2002, the centers have served about 73,000 patients from every county in the state, the company said.
