Dental firm sues lawyers for $148M; AAOMR issues new CBCT guidelines

Dear DrBicuspid Member,

Guidance Endodontics has filed a $148 million lawsuit against the law firm that represented it in a 2008-2009 legal battle with Dentsply International -- a legal battle Guidance actually won.

Meanwhile, in Imaging & CAD/CAM Community news, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR) has published a new position statement regarding the use of imaging in implantology -- the first update of these guidelines since 2000.

Given the increasing adoption of cone-beam CT for dental implant planning over the last decade, the revised guidelines put particular emphasis on this modality. Click here to read the AAOMR's new recommendations.

Finally, in her latest Dental Diaries entry, Dr. Sheri Doniger shares her concerns over a young patient whose parents insisted he have "the whitest teeth possible" -- even though he's only 6 years old.
