Hockey player picks up own teeth off the ice

Everyone knows that hockey players are a tough bunch. But Detroit Red Wings' forward Daniel Alfredsson took it to a new level when he picked up his own teeth off the ice after they were knocked out during a game this week.

The incident occurred during the March 4 game against the New Jersey Devils when Alfredsson received a hit against the boards and took an accidental stick to the face that knocked out some teeth, according to a usatoday.com story.

After getting some of his teeth knocked out, Alfredsson skated around the ice and picked up his teeth.

Alfredsson didn't miss a single shift in the Wings eventual 4-3 loss, according to the story. And he is expected back on the ice in tonight's game against Colorado.
