Dr. Tom Giacobbi has a tip of the cap to a dental technology that many dentists and team members take for granted: digital x-rays.

"Believe it or not, analog dental x-ray film is still sold by some suppliers. It looks like this ... and if you can help me find that person that's still buying analog dental x-ray film, I'd love to meet them.
"The rest of us are using digital x-rays, and we have for decades. Digital x-rays have a ton of benefits. They allow us to reduce radiation exposures by up to 90%. We can enlarge and shrink and analyze images, and now, with the advent of AI, we can analyze those images even deeper in an instant, finding abnormalities that we couldn't before see very easily. Add to that the fact that 3D cone beam x-ray technology has been around for years, and we are getting a better picture at the inside of our patients.
