GoMo Health and Dentistry.One announced a partnership to integrate Dentistry.One's SmileScan oral health screening tool into GoMo Health's chronic disease management programs for Medicaid members.
The collaboration aims to address a persistent gap between dental and medical care by embedding oral health assessments into existing health plan workflows. The partnership draws on research linking poor oral health to more than 60 chronic conditions, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
For dental practices aligned with federally qualified health centers and managed care organizations, the integration could expand referral pipelines as Medicaid programs adopt more coordinated care models. GoMo Health said the SmileScan tool uses AI to flag oral health concerns during chronic disease screenings, connecting members to dental care providers.
