SoftSmile has launched Vision Forecast, a module in its Vision Portal that uses AI to analyze a new case and generate a summary covering approximate aligner requirements, case complexity, relevant clinical details, and commonly used treatment strategies.

The company said the tool helps doctors quickly estimate treatment duration and compare approaches, such as treating with or without extractions.

Khamzat Asabaev, founder and CEO of SoftSmile, said the most valuable aspect of the tool is what it can tell a doctor in the first minutes of a consultation.

“Doctors do this anyway -- they always assess or model the case or imagine the treatment even before sending all data to the aligner supplier,” he said. “Now, the initial assessment will be visualized, and the doctor will be able to walk the patient through it.”

Asabaev said Forecast also shows doctors similar cases and how they were treated. SoftSmile said the module can identify patterns and connections that may not be apparent when a case is first reviewed on its own.

Vision Forecast is part of SoftSmile’s broader development of AI-powered capabilities. The New York-based company, founded in 2020, says Vision supports more than 1,000 doctors, exports more than 10,000 treatment plans monthly, and holds the U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance.
