Some 52,000 dental professionals attended GNYDM 2014 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
The light-filled Jacob K. Javits Convention Center reflected a New York attitude and was like being in a giant glass greenhouse. Languages from around the world could be heard among the international group of dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and vendors.
Carrie B. Brown, DMD, of Lexington, KY, and president-elect of the National Dental Association, sported a big smile and a bright outfit while greeting friends and GNYDM attendees.
Among the hundreds of vendor displays in the cavernous main showroom, many featured colorful and whimsical operatory equipment, such as this Raffy giraffe-themed intraoral radiography system from Villa Sistemi Medicali's Kids line in the TriState Dental booth.
Many vendors showcased impressive and elaborate displays, including this one highlighting Henry Schein's wide range of products. The company's showcase is always one of the biggest at dental conventions.
The Philips display showcased giant versions of its Sonicare AirfFoss Pro and DiamondClean rechargeable electric toothbrush, which are always attention-getters.
Among the thousands of eye-catching vendor displays, Midmark's brightly colored chartreuse and banana yellow dental chairs added flair to the wide range of operatory furnishings.
