Tao Clean launched the BioShield Travel Case 2.0, a battery-powered UV-C case that sanitizes the Tao Clean Sonic Toothbrush for users who are away from home. The company's patented charging base sanitizes, dries, and charges the brush at home but isn’t portable, so the new case brings the same BioShield UV-C technology to travelers.
Users dock the brush, close the latch, and a four-minute UV-C cycle runs automatically. Tao Clean said independent lab testing shows the cycle kills 99.9% of five common bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella. Built-in ventilation holes allow airflow to prevent moisture from being sealed inside, and an auto-off feature disables the UV-C when the case opens.
The case runs on two AA batteries, which aren't included and doesn't charge the toothbrush. It is U.S. Transportation Security Administration-friendly and weighs 4.95 oz without batteries.
"The Travel Case 2.0 includes the same BioShield UV-C technology from our base station, so your brush is as clean in a hotel room as it is in your own bathroom," said Marcus Hatcher, CEO of Tao Clean.
The Travel Case 2.0 is available now in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand at taoclean.com, starting at $44.55. Email subscribers pay $34.65 each when they buy two or more cases.
