A man in Michigan accused of killing a man because he was displeased with dental work he received at an illegal dental office was recently sentenced to 10 to 30 years in prison, according to multiple news reports.

Zayed Albodour, 53, who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in April, was sentenced on May 10 in Wayne County Circuit Court in Michigan for fatally shooting  Ahmad Nesserdine, 28, during a dispute over dental work, according to reports

On July 6, 2023, Nesserdine's family said that he went to the illicit basement dental office, which was in the basement of a home, to save money on a root canal and veneers. However, the family member said that Nesserdine had been in constant pain since Albodour, who claimed to be a dentist, reportedly worked on his teeth.

The victim’s sister said her brother went to Albodour's home after he was purportedly told to come there at midnight on July 6. Additionally, she told the news outlet that the dispute likely turned deadly after Nesserdine threatened to expose Albodour's illegal dental clinic if his teeth weren't fixed or he was given medicine, according to the report.

On July 9, Albodour was charged with homicide -- murder first-degree premeditated and using a firearm during a felony -- for purportedly shooting Nesserdine in the head. Nesserdine died from his injuries at the scene.
