A dentist in Texas was one of 18 individuals arrested in a sting to catch those allegedly attempting to engage in sexual activities with minors, according to a Kerr County Sheriff’s Office press release dated June 20 and posted on its Facebook page.

Dr. Scott Sachs -- whose dental practice in Kerrville, TX, is no longer open -- and the others were arrested after allegedly communicating with undercover investigators and trying to meet underage individuals for sexual conduct, according to the press release.
Sachs, 69, of Kerrville, was charged with one count of online solicitation of a minor/sexual conduct. His bond was set at $25,000 after he was booked at the county jail.
Others arrested in the multiple-month sting operation and charged with online solicitation of a minor/sexual conduct include the following men:

- Rodrigo Mejia Martinez, 38, of Mountain Home
- Alvaro Huerta, 30, of Kerrville
- Rex Keith Herl, 55, of Ingram
- Travis Jackson, 63, of Ingram
- Carl Dean Stewart, 66, of Center Point
- Ricky Navarro, 37, of Kerrville
- Ahren Lee Bell, 49, of Fredericksburg
- Jeremiah William McLaughlin, 38, of Kerrville
- Garrett S. Brown, 35, of Kerrville
- Jimmy Alcorta, 53, of Kerrville
- Michael Edwards Saur, 43, of Kerrville
- Chance Austin Eaton, 30, of Ingram
The following individuals were arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor/sexual conduct and the other listed charges:
- Jeremiah Michael Welch, 41, of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, one count of failure to comply/register as a sex offender
- Andy West Moore, 47, of Mountain Home, one count of online solicitation of a minor/sexual contact - enhanced
- Fred W. Stephenson, 67, of Kerrville, was also wanted on an existing forgery charge
- Matthew Hayden Clark, 26, of Kerrville, was also wanted on prior traffic warrants
As the investigation continues, more charges may be added, according to the press release.
A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
