A Massachusetts dentist accused of hiding secret cameras in a staff bathroom was indicted for a host of offenses, including multiple counts of photographing an unsuspecting person in the nude, according to a story published on July 7 in the MetroWest Daily News.

On June 26, Patrick Tu Huynh, 35, of Marlborough, MA, was indicted on one count of illegal wiretapping, seven counts of photographing an unsuspecting person in a state of nudity, and malicious destruction of property worth less than $1,200 without consent. Huynh is accused of allegedly placing a camera inside the toilet at a staff bathroom at the New England Dental Group, where he worked.

The state has suspended Huynh's dental license. Huynh pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment in August 2025, according to the story.

In May 2025, a dental assistant at the practice discovered a camera that had allegedly been taped to the toilet in the staff bathroom. The assistant reported the camera to Huynh. Huynh allegedly told her that he would try to find out who planted the camera.

Three months later, the same dental assistant contacted the police after finding an identical camera attached inside the same toilet with dental wax and medical tape, according to the press release.

The police investigation revealed that Huynh allegedly placed the camera inside the toilet to capture audio and video recordings of dental practice staff members using the bathroom. Police said the camera captured multiple videos of victims, as well as images of the defendant appearing to adjust and clean the camera lens while it was in the toilet.

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
