A patient was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill an employee at an Oklahoma dental practice because he was unhappy with the treatment he received, according to a story published on May 1 in The Lawton Constitution.

Linnie Baker III, 64, of Lawton, OK, was charged on April 30 with a felony count of planning to perform an act of violence. He is being held in jail on a $25,000 bond. Since Baker has two prior convictions, he faces up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted of this felony offense, according to the story.

On April 28, Baker allegedly called My Dentist in Lawton, OK, two times and threatened an employee. In the calls, both of which were recorded, Baker reportedly stated that he would harm a particular employee. Baker allegedly stated that he would be on the news for hurting this employee if the office didn’t “stop messing around,” according to the story.

Furthermore, Baker is accused of threatening the employee with gunfire if his concerns were not addressed by the next morning. Additionally, Baker allegedly said, “I’ll cap her as soon as she goes out to her car,” according to the story.

On April 29, Baker spoke with the practice manager and allegedly said, “It’s OK. I’ll get you,” according to the story.

In a call with police, Baker allegedly admitted to making the threatening calls and said he wouldn’t turn himself in to authorities until he received money from the dental practice. Also, Baker purportedly admitted to police that he had an anger problem.

This isn’t Baker’s first brush with the law.

In 1995, Baker was convicted of distributing cocaine. In 2013, he was convicted of possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
