Buffalo Dental Manufacturing has launched the UV MT wet model trimmer finishing system, which features an internal ultraviolet (UV) LED interlock sanitizing system.
The system's internal 365-nm UV LED light is intended to both disinfect the surface of the model trimmer wheel and help break the chain of cross-contamination each time the model is reintroduced to the grinding surface, according to Buffalo.

The finishing system also features an extra-high-torque motor, a coarse Carborundum wheel, and balanced direct-drive technology. An enlarged window increases the working area and provides full wheel use while reducing splashing, according to Buffalo. The calibrated worktable can be easily tilted and repositioned to suit nearly every trimming requirement, the company said.
Optional accessories include diamond wheels (10- or 12-inch) and solenoid units that provide instant water on/off coordinated with the power switch. The new model trimmer is also available in 220 volts for international installations. Patents are pending in the U.S., where the system is made, and Canada.
