Digital imaging manufacturer 3DISC Imaging will debut its FireCR Dental Reader at the upcoming Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2013 annual meeting in Chicago.
FireCR Dental Reader is designed to support reading of reusable dental imaging plates and is about the size of a shoebox, according to the vendor. It also includes the firm's new QuantorTab tablet computer software, which provides dentists with access to a patient's dental images from their tablet computers running Android or iOS operating systems, 3DISC said.
FireCR Dental Reader is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2014.
In other RSNA 2013 introductions, 3DISC will debut its FireID Radiofrequency Identification (RFID) Reader, which ensures that the scanned image, imaging plate size, and serial number of the imaging plate are automatically assigned to the correct patient file, according to the firm. FireID RFID Reader can also be connected via USB cable to the FireCR Dental workstation.
