A song by singing doctor "DocRock," a dental Sudoku puzzle, and other fun activities are some of the new additions to CIGNA's Online Dental Toolkit for Parents and Children. The website is designed to educate parents and children about the importance of oral health, and the updates are timed to coincide with National Children's Dental Health Month, which began February 1.
In addition to the Sudoku puzzle, designed for children ages 10 to 14, Cigna's toolkit includes:
- A daily dental tracker that kids can use to log how often they brush
- Coloring pages with fun dental images for younger kids
- The Cigna's cavity risk assessment tool to help people identify factors that could increase their risk for cavities
- An audio podcast that offers ways parents can jump-start positive dental habits in kids at an early age
"Any way we can make learning about oral care fun, interesting, and engaging for kids is a step toward healthier smiles," said Miles Hall, D.D.S., M.B.A., chief dental clinical director for Cigna.
