SprintRay has launched Midas Restore, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved, glass ceramic and zirconia-filled definitive restorative resin engineered exclusively for the company's Midas Digital Press.
With more than 75% filler by weight, the material is designed to enable same-visit crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers through a streamlined digital workflow, according to SprintRay.
Rather than optimizing purely for bulk strength, Midas Restore is engineered around how a bonded restoration behaves in the mouth, balancing polish retention, wear resistance, strength, and optical performance, per the company. SprintRay lab testing found the material retained 98% of its gloss after 5,000 toothbrush abrasion cycles and delivered five times the wear resistance of SprintRay's ceramic crown material, with a maximum flexural strength of 215 MPa, the highest of any SprintRay definitive restorative to date, it said.
The material works exclusively with SprintRay's digital press stereolithography technology, which pushes highly viscous material into the print zone, something conventional 3D printing cannot handle, SprintRay said. Clinicians can post-cure restorations in four minutes and polish them in under two, without a glaze or oven, it said.
Midas Restore is available beginning September 1, 2026, in five shades, with a three-pack of single-unit capsules priced at $135 through the SprintRay store and authorized distributors.
