Kuraray Noritake has launched the Katana universal cleaner for tooth surfaces and structures.
Kuraray designed the Katana cleaner to help prevent the weakening of restoration bond strength after cementation due to contamination from saliva and blood. The cleaner has a pH value of 4.5, so it can be used inside and outside of the oral cavity, according to the company.
The cleaner works by applying and rubbing the solution onto surfaces, then rinsing and drying. It takes about 10 seconds of rubbing time, and it can be used on a variety of tooth structures and prosthetics, including cavities, root canals, ceramics, metals, and posts.
