United Concordia Dental's charitable fund is investing nearly $1.1 million to support dental and dental hygiene students nationwide, including renewed five-year commitments of $500,000 each to Howard University and Meharry Medical College through 2030.
An additional $86,000 in scholarships for the 2025-26 school year will benefit 24 students at 10 institutions across nine states.
"Through these scholarships, we want to make it easier for students to pursue career paths and foster a strong pipeline of dentists and dental hygienists," said Ed Shellard, DMD, president and CEO of United Concordia Dental.
The company has provided more than $1.7 million in student support since 2004.
