PDS Health raises $2 million for clean water in Ethiopia

PDS Health announced that its annual campaign, charity: water, has raised more than $2 million, with the proceeds funding clean water systems in Ethiopia that will benefit more than 50,000 people.

The campaign, conducted through PDS Health's consumer brand Smile Generation, mobilized the organization's network of dental and medical practices and patients. The funds will support long-term, community-owned water projects in Ethiopia, with a focus on communities where women and girls bear the burden of daily water collection.

The announcement marks 17 years of partnership between PDS Health and charity: water. During that time, PDS Health campaigns have raised more than $14 million in total support of the organization's mission.

"At PDS Health, we believe better access to care -- whether dental, medical, or something as essential as clean water -- changes lives," Stephen E. Thorne IV, founder and CEO of PDS Health, said.
